Our vents are operated by 4 AA batteries, which should last between 3-5 years. Lithiums or Alkaline batteries will work just fine.

Ecovent vents and sensors communicate through a custom low powered protocol on 915 MHz and they open and close based on the data input of our sensors. The design is both very low power and low bandwidth, which means we get great range and use very little power to do so.
